Micrel Inc., a renowned leader in high-performance linear and power solutions, local area networking, clock management and communications, today announced the successful entry of its RF solutions product line into the automotive market. Wheels Electronics Manufacturing SDN, BHD, Malaysia's leading manufacturer of high-quality automotive and home security systems, has selected RF solutions provided by Micrel Semiconductor for its keyless entry systems and RF access control systems. This marks the application and popularity of Micrel Semiconductor's RF solutions among first-tier automobile manufacturers around the world.
Joe Tan, Director of R&D Department of Wheels Electronics, expressed his great satisfaction and trust. He mentioned: "The choice of Micrel Semiconductor is not only because of its high-quality products, but also based on the good cooperative relationship between us and the world-class customer support provided by Micrel Semiconductor. Micrel Semiconductor has a deep understanding of the automotive market. And they are committed to helping us reduce costs, especially in antenna design.”
David Schwartz, Vice President of Global Sales at Micrel Semiconductor, said: "Micrel Semiconductor's goal is not only to sell products, but more importantly, to establish long-term cooperative relationships with customers. We provide customized solutions to our customers by deeply understanding their unique needs. , helping customers succeed. With a long-term investment in the global automotive market, we are pleased to help Wheels Electronics achieve its goals."

Wheels Electronics plans to use a range of RF chip solutions provided by Micrel Semiconductor. These include the MICRF211 and MICRF213, which are universal 3V QwikRadio® receivers, suitable for operating frequencies of 433.92MHz and 315MHz respectively, and both have a typical sensitivity of -110dBm. In addition, Micrel Semiconductor also provides MICRF113, a high-performance monolithic ASK transmitter integrated circuit suitable for wireless remote control applications in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency band. Both the MICRF211 and MICRF213 are available in OOK and ASK modulated superheterodyne receivers up to 10kbps and 7.2kbps.
These RF solutions feature downconversion mixers with image rejection and post-detection data filtering, allowing users to easily configure the device to determine values based on data rate, coded modulation format, and desired duty cycle operation. These devices are ideal in industrial and consumer applications where simplicity and small size are required. As Micrel Semiconductor continues to expand its influence in the automotive industry, its bipolar silicon germanium carbon technology is not only suitable for LTE multi-band multi-mode systems, but will also be suitable for ultra-high frequency applications above 60GHz to achieve high efficiency and Gbit Point-to-point communication and data transmission at /s-level speed.
